Frequently Asked Questions

What does it mean that the robot develops with the child?

When first taken out of the box, Photon has access to very limited abilities. As the child progresses through the Photon story and complete challenges, Photon will introduce new features and capabilities that are age-appropriate and easy for the child to learn and understand.

Can two children play with one robot?

Yes, you can create multiple separate profiles for each child. Each profile is unique and does not interfere with the other accounts.

What is the difference between Photon Robot and Photon Coding applications?

The Photon Robot application brings the children on an engaging story where they learn by completing challenges and solving problems with Photon. Throughout the story, there are many tutorials and hints to help children progress smoothly. Photon abilities are dependent on the knowledge and progress of the children’s story progression.

The Photon Coding application allows the children to program Photon without restrictions. They are able to use Photon to its full potential and create all kinds of different programs for Photon. This open sandbox application allows children to experiment with their creativity and imagination.

My child has never programmed - can they handle Photon?

We took careful consideration to design Photon to ensure that it is user friendly to everyone even for those with no coding experience. We consulted our design and ideas with psychologists and tested the product with children ages 4-12 before finalising the product.
